Settings
The Stabilizer settings dialog. The Spectrum Stabilizer is primarily used to reduce the
effects of changes in spectrum gain due to temperature variations. Such shifts in gains are
primarily associated with scintillator detectors that do not have built-in temperature
stabilization.
Figure 57: Stabilizer Hardware Settings
Spectrum stabilization can be useful in applications where temperature variation has a
significant effect on the processing and storage of energy events. Unstabilized NaI
detectors are a common source of temperature-related drifts in the storage of PHA data.
Range
Sets the allowable correction range based on detector type. NaI selects +/- 10% of the
allowed full scale, and Ge selects +/- 1% of the allowed full scale. If the correction
exceeds the allowed range an over-range or under-range error will be asserted by the Lynx
II.
