12 Switch screen when
Alarm/Event occurred
Automatically switches screens when alarms/events are generated, i.e., when
the contents of the specified address turn ON.
13 Contents No. Sets the contents number for contents display when an alarm/event occurs.
14 Switch contents when
Alarm/Event occurred
Automatically switches to the contents display to the contents set under Con-
tents No. if this checkbox is selected and an alarm/event occurs.
15 Save to History Records when alarms/events are generated and cleared. The number of alarms
and events and the messages are also saved to the history file.
16 Delete when
Alarm/Event is
cancelled
Automatically clears messages from related functional objects when
alarms/events are cleared, i.e., when the contents of the specified address turn
OFF. The messages are displayed again if the address turns ON again. This
option is available only when Save to history file is not selected.
17 Detection Type Sets the method for detecting alarms and events.
Raise alarm on Set (to 1) of address: An alarm has occurred when the address
set for the alarm/event goes from OFF to ON and is cleared when the address
goes from ON to OFF.
Raise alarm on Reset (to 0) of address: An alarm has occurred when the ad-
dress set for the alarm/event goes from ON to OFF and is cleared when the
address goes from OFF to ON.

The following restrictions apply when referencing the character string table.
If the character string has more than 80 characters, it will be treated as a message with 80 char-
acters max.
If there are multiple lines set for the character string, the first line of the character string will be
treated as the message.
Specifying Alarm/Event Groups
Specifies the group that belongs to the set alarm/event data.
Select the group in the CX-Designer Dialog Box and click the OK Button.

Creates a new group. Click the Add Button and set a group name of up to 32 characters.
2 Delete Deletes the group selected from the list.
Automatically Setting a Variable Name or I/O Comment in a Message
When an address has been set in the Address Field of the Alarm/Event Details Dialog Box, the com-
munications address’ symbol name or I/O comment can be automatically set as the alarm message.
1 Select Options from the Tools Menu.
