Chapter 9: IP54/65 Option

9.1 Introduction

The Viper 650 and 850 robots can be ordered with an IP54/65 option that is a dust-proof,

splash-proof model. With the IP54/65 option, the main body of the robot is rated IP54, and

Joints 4, 5, 6 are rated IP65. Without this option, the robots have a rating of IP40.

CAUTION: The SmartController and eMB-40/60R are not dust- or splash-

proof. Therefore, when using these products in an environment exposed to dust

or mist, put them in protective enclosures.
