The Frankfort plane light beam must be horizontal and reach the rear end of the Frankfort
plane alignment tool. Using the Frankfort plane light adjusting lever, check that the
movement range of the light beam covers at least the area between the two reference
lines on the alignment tool.
To adjust the position of the light beam, first open the column front panel as described in
section 1.1 "Opening the front panel" on page 117. Then carefully adjust the position of the
light by using a pair of pliers or a similar tool. Adjust the position of the light until the light
beam meets the criteria described above. Check the beam position also with the front
panel closed.
When you have adjusted all three positioning lights remove the ball phantom and the
Frankfort plane alignment tool from the patient support table. You can then proceed to
Step 6.
