Chapter E: CALIBRATIONS
1 ADJUSTING AND CALIBRATING X-RAY BEAM
1.1 Radiation protection
Protect yourself from radiation when you check the beam alignment. Since radiation safety
requirements vary from state to state and country to country it is the responsibility of the
installer to ensure that correct precautions are taken.
WARNING
IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT THE ROOM IN WHICH THE X-RAY UNIT IS
INSTALLED AND THE POSITION FROM WHICH THE USER OPERATES THE
EQUIPMENT ARE CORRECTLY SHIELDED. SINCE RADIATION SAFETY
REQUIREMENTS VARY FROM COUNTRY TO COUNTRY AND STATE TO STATE
IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE INSTALLER TO ENSURE THAT ALL LOCAL
SAFETY REGULATIONS ARE MET.
