Chapter E: CALIBRATIONS 1 ADJUSTING AND CALIBRATING X-RAY BEAM
Technical manual Planmeca ProOne 97
1.5 Step 2: Adjusting the patient support table position (ball phantom y-
line)
Next you will have to check and adjust the position of the patient support table. This is
done by using a ball phantom and an alignment ruler. You will also need an alignment pin
to lock the C-arm in position (included in the ProOne X-ray delivery).
Remove the C-arm inner cover as described in section 2.4 "Removing the C-arm inner
cover" on page 122.
Insert the ball phantom into the adapter on the patient support table. There are two lines
marked on the ball phantom: one vertical line (y-line) and one horizontal line (x-line).
On the main display, select exposure program “Panoramic standard” and adult patient
size.
Position the alignment ruler between the sensor and the collimator. Carefully insert the
alignment ruler tongue into the slit in the rear collimator blade. Place the other end against
the sensor frame.
NOTE
Take care not to make any cuts to the lead blades of the collimator.
