Example Engine Serial Number Plate
IMPORTANT: The engine serial number plate can be
easily destroyed. Remove the plate or
record the information elsewhere,
before “hot tank” cleaning the block.
1. Example Engine Serial Number (A)
Each engine has a 13-digit John Deere engine serial
number identifying the producing factory, engine model
designation, and a 6-digit sequential number. The
following is an example:
RG6105H000000
RG ........................................................ Factory code producing engine
6105H ........................................................... Engine model designation
000000 .................................................................... Sequential number
