The device is maintenance-free. However, a periodic inspection according to pertinent
directives and regulations must be carried out.
An inspection can include check of:
● Ambient conditions
● Seal integrity of the process connections, cable entries, and cover screws
● Reliability of power supply, lightning protection, and grounds
Risk of chemical burns when replacing the sensor.
The sensor in the device contains corrosive substances that result in burns on unprotected
skin.
• Make sure that the sensor enclosure is not damaged when replacing the sensor.
• If contact with the corrosive substances occurs, rinse the affected skin immediately with
large amount of water to dilute substance.
Impermissible repair and maintenance of the device
• Repair and maintenance must be carried out by Siemens authorized personnel only.
Penetration of moisture into the device
Device damage.
• Make sure when carrying out cleaning and maintenance work that no moisture
penetrates the inside of the device.
Hot, toxic or corrosive process media
Risk of injury during maintenance work.
When working on the process connection, hot, toxic or corrosive process media could be
released.
• As long as the device is under pressure, do not loosen process connections and do not
remove any parts that are pressurized.
• Before opening or removing the device ensure that process media cannot be released.
