10.11 Transducer ringing
HydroRanger 200 HMI
292 Operating Instructions, 06/2018, A5E36281317-AC
If multiple echoes appear on the echo profile, typical of a flat material profile (especially if the
vessel top is domed), use the “TF ” (True First) algorithm.
Should a stable measurement still not be attainable, contact Siemens representative.
10.11
Transducer ringing
If the transducer is mounted too tightly, or if it is mounted so that its side touches something
(such as a vessel wall, or standpipe), its resonance characteristics change and this can
cause problems. Hand tighten only. PTFE tape is not recommended as it reduces friction
resulting in a tighter connection that can lead to ringing.
