Exceptions:
• Devices having the type of protection "Intrinsic safety Ex i" may also be connected in
energized state in hazardous areas.

Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC)
You can use this device in industrial environments, households and small businesses.
For metal enclosures there is an increased electromagnetic compatibility compared to high-
frequency radiation. This protection can be increased by grounding the enclosure.

Improvement of interference immunity
• Lay signal cables separate from cables with voltages > 60 V.
• Use cables with twisted wires.
• Keep device and cables at a distance from strong electromagnetic 󹪝elds.
• Take account of the conditions for communication speci󹪝ed in the Technical data (Page 127).
• Use shielded cables to guarantee the full speci󹪝cation according to HART/PA/FF/Modbus/
EIA-485/Pro󹪝bus DP.
