9. Retest charge pressure.
Is charge pressure 275–285 psi (19–20 bar)?
YES Charge pump is good.
NO Inspect, repair, or replace charge pump as
needed. (See “Traction Pump” on
page 5-27.)
10. Disconnect and remove test equipment. Install all
hoses and fittings as noted prior to removal.
11. Install and connect all components as noted prior to
test.
12. Check hydraulic oil level. Add oil as needed. (Refer to
“Safety, Operation, and Maintenance Manual” for
correct oil specifications.)
Traction System Test
See Figures 5-12 through 5-15.
IMPORTANT
• This test works together with the wheel motors
test to isolate a problem within the hydrostatic
power train.
• Performing this test will isolate the traction pump
and front wheel motors from the rest of the
hydrostatic system.

or the machine will move.
5. Lift and support the machine so that the rear wheels
are off the ground.
6. Disconnect traction pump control rod from pump
control arm.
The hydraulic system is under pressure, and the
oil will be hot.
• Always relieve pressure in the hydraulic
system before performing service.
• Failure to follow appropriate safety
precautions may result in death or serious
injury.
