Steering Wheel
Removal and Installation
See Figure 7-6.
1. Park the mower safely. (See “Park Mower Safely” on
page 1-5.)

2. Remove (unsnap) the cap (3) from the steering
wheel (1).
3. Remove nut (2) and lock washer (4). Remove the
steering wheel (1) and washer (5) from the steering
column (6).
Installation Notes
• Install the steering wheel by reversing the order of
removal.
• Tighten the steering wheel nut (2) to 25—30 lb-ft
(34—41 N·m).

1. Park the mower safely. (See “Park Mower Safely” on
page 1-5.)
2. Remove the steering wheel. (See “Steering Wheel”
on page 7-7.)
NOTE
If available, use a portable hydraulic filtering unit to
remove the hydraulic oil from the hydraulic tank.
Place the filtering unit suction hose in the tank and
pump the oil into a clean and sealable container.

3. Remove six (three each side) screws (3).
4. Remove cover (1) from the steering column (2).
5. Using the steering tilt control, tilt the steering column
toward the back of the mower. (Refer to “Safety,
Operation, and Maintenance Manual.)
