Front Cutting Units Circuit
See Figures 6-15 and 6-16.
IMPORTANT
• This test works together with the front cutting
units motors test to isolate a problem with the
front cutting unit circuit.
• Performing this test will isolate the front cutting
units pump, deck valve, and right front cutting
unit motor from the rest of the front cutting units
circuit.
!
WARNING
1. Park the mower safely. (See “Park Mower Safely” on
page 1-5.)
2. Remove the center floorboard.
IMPORTANT
M
Depending on the machine model number and
production date, the possibility exists that the hoses
connected to the center and rear sections of the gear
pump could be reversed. This design change does
not affect the operation of the mower, but will affect
the outcome of this test as outlined. Please confirm
that the hose connected to the center section of the
gear pump is connected to deck valve port “P2”.
Please see “Hydraulic Schematic” on page 6-6 for
additional information.

4. Install tee fitting (5) to fitting (2).
5. Connect test hose (6) of flow meter inlet and hose (1)
to tee fitting (5).
NOTE
Make sure hose end is under oil level in hydraulic tank to
prevent aeration of oil.
The hydraulic system is under pressure, and the
oil will be hot.
• Always relieve pressure in the hydraulic
system before performing service.
• Failure to follow appropriate safety
precautions may result in death or serious
injury.
