Exhaust Manifold and Turbocharger
Removal and Installation
See Figures 3-13 and 3-14.

WARNING
1. Park the mower safely. (See “Park Mower Safely” on
page 1-5.)
2. Stop the engine and remove the ignition key. Allow
the engine to cool completely.
3. Raise the hood.
4. Remove the muffler. (See “Muffler” on page 3-8.)

5. Loosen hose clamps (9) and (3), and remove hoses
(8) and (2) from turbocharger (10) and air cleaner
assembly (1).
6. Remove banjo fitting bolt (5) and oil tube (4) from
turbocharger (10).
7. Remove two bolts (7) and oil tube (6) from
turbocharger (10).

8. Support the exhaust manifold/turbocharger
assembly.
9. Remove eight nuts (11) and lock washers (12).
10. Remove exhaust manifold/turbocharger assembly
(13) and gaskets (14).
Installation Notes
• Clean the gasket surfaces.
• Install the exhaust manifold/turbocharger assembly
by reversing the order of removal.
• Use new gaskets during installation.
Engine components will become hot during
operation. Allow engine components to cool
before performing service. Failure to follow safety
recommendations may result in injury.
