Condition Probable Cause Remedy
Drive motors do not reach full speed. Engine speed is insufficient, not set to
specification.
Check/adjust engine speed. (Refer to
“Safety, Operation, and Maintenance
Manual.”)
Rotary drive motors and/or hydraulic
system performance is reduced.
Check hydraulic system performance
(pump output, motor operation, valve
operation, relief valve settings, etc.).
(See “Instrument Test Procedure” on
page 6-23.)
Drive motors do not engage. Mow switch is not engaged. Engage mow switch. (Refer to “Safety,
Operation, and Maintenance Manual.”)
Low hydraulic oil level. Check hydraulic oil level.
Mow switch is faulty. Test mow switch. (See “Mow Switch” on
page 4-62.)
Mow solenoid is faulty. Test mow solenoid. (See “Solenoid Test”
on page 4-63.) (See “Mow Circuit
Schematic” on page 4-35.)
Operator not in seat. Operator must be in seat before engaging
mower.
Park brake is on or park brake switch is
faulty.
Test park brake switch.
Engine overheat. Check engine cooling system and coolant
level.
Hydraulic oil filter restriction. Test hydraulic oil pressure switch. (See
“Hydraulic Filter Pressure Switch Test”
on page 4-64.)
Cutting unit does not lower completely to
ground.
Cutting unit movement is restricted. Check/remove cutting unit restriction.
Raise/lower circuit is faulty. Test raise/lower circuit. (See “Raise/Lower
Circuit—Theory of Operation” on
page 4-30.)
Cutting unit does not rise off ground. Faulty lift cylinder. Test lift system. (See “Lift/Steer Pump
Test” on page 6-39.)
Hydraulic system performance is reduced. Check hydraulic system performance
(pump output, motor operation, valve
operation, relief valve settings, etc.).
(See “Instrument Test Procedure” on
page 6-23.)
Cutting unit roller does not rotate. Roller is out of round and restricted by
scraper, and/or scraper is bent.
Replace roller or scraper. (See “Deck
Roller” on page 8-18.)
Roller bearing is faulty. Replace roller bearing. (See “Deck Roller”
on page 8-18.)
