Checks and Adjustments
Brake Pedal/Linkage Adjustment
See Figures 9-2 and 9-3.

WARNING
1. Park mower safely. (See “Park Mower Safely” on
page 1-5.)
2. Remove front wheels. (See “Front Wheels” on
page 9-12.)

3. Check the brake actuating lever (2). The lever should
just touch the inner support plate (1).

4. Use the cable nuts (3) to adjust the actuating lever
and brake pedal free travel.
5. Brake pedal free travel, 1.5 in. (38 mm) is measured
between pedal grip and mower floor pan.
6. Repeat step 5 to adjust the remaining side.
7. Torque cable nuts to 20 lb-ft (27 N·m).

Removal and Installation

1. Park mower safely. (See “Park Mower Safely” on

2. Support the canopy (1) using a suitable lifting device.

3. Loosen the nuts on the two front screws (2).
4. Remove the two rear nuts (3), screws (4), and four
washers (5).
Prevent personal injury. Use properly rated lifting
devices. Always be sure that load is balanced
before lifting.
