STEERING

1. Park the mower safely. (See “Park Mower Safely” on
page 1-5.)
2. Remove the steering valve. (See “Steering Valve” on
page 7-7.)
3. Using the steering tilt control (3), tilt the steering
column (12) toward the rear of the mower.
4. Remove tilt cable (4) from tilt spring release bracket
(7).

CAUTION
5. Remove lock nuts (11), upper and lower bolts (1 and
10), and remove tilt gas spring (9).
6. Remove four flanged lock nuts (6), and lift steering
tower (2) from platform (5).
Installation Note
Install the steering tower by reversing the order of
removal.
Tilt column gas actuator spring is under high
pressure; do not attempt to open for service.
