Overview
Amethyst III can be monitored and configured via SNMP (v1 or v2). The
parameters may be consulted at any time. You may then configure the
equipment and check its status and lists of active and closed alarms.
Furthermore, SNMP TRAPs are used to send notification of alarms of the
equipment. On the CD-ROM provided with Amethyst III, you will find a
MIB fi
le in the MIB directory. The MIB details how to configure and
monitor the equipment.

The Amethyst III MIB is composed of a number of parts:
 Traps (see Section ’Traps Description’ on page 224 for more details).
 Objects:
 Description: containing all available equipment options (these
elements are also available in the Amethyst III About box)
 Supervision: containing the current status, the current alarm list
and the closed alarm list
 Configuration: allowing configuration via SNMP, including the
possibility to get and modify a configuration
 Commands: containing specific actions
