Chapter 2 ’Installation and Startup’ — Powering Back On the Device

User Manual
2.
Connect the supervision network to the
ETH C/C
connector.
Check that Amethyst III is not yet connected to the LAN as factory-set
IP addresses may cause disturbance on the LAN when Amethyst III is
switc
hed on (address conflict).
For Amethyst III devices equipped with a Gigabit Ethernet board, be
sure that the supervision network (ETH C/C) and the data network are
separated. HTTPs requests originating from the remote control
interface are small but numerous and disturb multicast broadcasting
and devices.
3.
If required, connect the GPI triggers (refer to
Section ’GPI Inputs
(Triggers)’
on page 201 for more information on GPIs).
Once the platform is turned on, do not unplug the GPI cables.
Plugging and unplugging cables induces a voltage change and
causes actions associated to a state change (e.g. a switch operation).
4.
If required, connect the free voltage contact relays (refer to
Section
’Free Voltage Contacts (Relays)’
on page 202 for more information
on relays).
Powering Back On the Device
Once you have made all the signal connections, you can power back on
the device.
Proceed as before, as described in
Section ’Powering Up’
on page 45.
