The Amethyst III equipment can send notifications to SNMP managers
when the status of the equipment changes (each time an error appears or
disappears).

To set the community strings, use the
Equipment Setup
application

Section ’Using the Equipment Setup Application’
on page 51) or
the equipment’s front panel, if you have one (see
Section ’Front Panel’
on page 26).
