7. Remove the perforated end disk from the inside of the basket.
8. Remove the alumina balls from the basket, and dispose of them in
accordance with local environmental regulations.
9. Clean the inside of the basket. If the inside of the basket appears oily or
dirty, wash it out with isopropyl or ethyl alcohol and then dry it
thoroughly.
Warning: Activated alumina, a desiccant, can absorb
materials from the samples run through the mass
spectrometer. Ensure that the alumina is disposed of
according to local environmental regulations.
