2-8 Preparing the instrument for EI/CI operation
Outer source lid assembly:
Tip: A second heater connection is behind the reference reservoir.
8. Disconnect the red CI gas connector.
9. Disconnect the electrical and heater connectors.
10. Unscrew the two wing nuts on the top of the outer source lid assembly.
11. Use the two handles to lift the outer source lid assembly vertically from
the outer source enclosure.
Fitting the EI/CI outer source to the instrument
To fit the EI/CI outer source:
1. Carefully lower the outer source lid assembly vertically into the outer
source enclosure, using the two studs to ensure correct alignment.
2. Tighten the two wing nuts on the top of the outer source lid assembly.

3. Connect the red CI gas connector.
4. Connect the heater and electrical connectors.
