Starting data acquisition

prepare it for operation. A beam must be visible in the Tune window’s peak
display.
See also: Preparing the instrument for operation on page 3-2.
You can start data acquisition in one of two ways:
• A single sample acquisition from the Tune window. (See Starting a
single sample acquisition on page 4-2.)
• A multiple sample acquisition from the MassLynx window. (See Starting
a multiple-sample data acquisition on page 4-5.)
Starting a single sample acquisition
The easiest way to acquire data is by doing so directly from the Tune window:
• You can start and stop acquisitions from the Tune window.
• You can control most scanning parameters from the Tune window.
Restriction: With single sample acquisition, you cannot perform the following:
• Use inlet programs.
• Acquire analog data.
• Acquire multiple sample sequences.
To start a single sample acquisition:
1. In the Tune window, click .
2. In the GCT Premier Tune Acquire dialog box, specify the required
parameters.
See also: Table titled “GCT Premier Tune Acquire dialog box
parameters:” on page 4-3.
3. Click Start.
Result: The instrument acquires data and saves it to disk.
