8. Carefully remove the inner source assembly from the outer source.
Installing the EI/CI inner source
To install the inner source:
1. Ensure that the GC column is retracted.
See also: Installing the GC column on page 6-9.
Warning: The inner source is hot. To avoid burn injuries, take
care when withdrawing the inner source assembly.
Caution: When removing the inner source, take great care not to
knock the filament or ion chamber assembly, for they can be
damaged.
Caution: To avoid damaging the GC column and inner source
chamber assembly, the GC column must be retracted before
installing the inner source assembly.
