Setting-up for FI/FD operation
Recommendation: When using the FI/FD inner source probe fit the blank
flange or the GC interface to the instrument. When using the FI/FD inner
source probe with the DI probe, fit the FI/FD inner source direct insertion
probe flange.

Changing the FI/FD outer source assembly
Installing the FI/FD outer source
To fit the FI/FDI outer source:
1. Remove the top cover from the instrument. Lift at the back and pull
forwards to remove.
Note: FI and FD operation are run without the top cover fitted on the
instrument. This allows you to see inside the source through the clear
viewing port.
Warning: To avoid burn injuries, allow the outer source lid assembly to
cool before handling.
