Introducing the reference sample
To introduce the reference sample:
1. Ensure the reference reservoir valve is closed.
2. Use a septum-piercing syringe, inject approximately 0.2 µL of heptacosa
into the reference reservoir inlet cap.

cap:
Figure titled “Tune window with peak display:” on page 3-7 shows the
expected signal in EI mode from the reference material at m/z 219 for
heptacosa.
