4. Methodically investigate and eliminate possible causes of a problem to
identify the atypical system parameter.
5. Consult the troubleshooting information contained in tables on the
following pages. The tables identify possible causes of a symptom and
suggest corrective actions. If you trace a problem to a system instrument
other than the GCT Premer (for example the GC or autosampler),
consult the operator's guide for that instrument.
Component hardware troubleshooting
The following tables provide suggestions for resolving most hardware
problems.
Power switch fails to power-on the instrument:
Possible cause Corrective action
Mains power fuse failure. Unplug the instrument from the
main power supply, and replace both
the mains power fuses with fuses of
the correct type and rating. If the
fuses fail continually, isolate the
instrument from the power supply
and contact Waters for advice.

Cables are not properly connected. Ensure all necessary cables are
correctly attached to the source and
probe.
