Reference reservoir maintenance 10-17
Reference reservoir:
To renew the reference reservoir septum:
1. Open the reference reservoir pump valve.
2. Wait for 10 minutes.
Rationale: This removes any sample from the reference reservoir.
3. On the MassLynx Tune Window, click Vacuum > Vent Source.
4. Wait for the Vacuum Status LED to display steady yellow.
5. Unscrew and remove the reference inlet cap.
6. Remove the septum from the inlet cap.
Warning: The reference reservoir components can be
contaminated with toxic and biohazardous materials. Wear
lint-free cotton gloves at all times while handling the
components.
Warning: To avoid burn injuries, take care when working
with the reference reservoir; it can be hot.
Caution: Note the color and orientation of the old septum, as an
incorrectly-fitted new septum can cause air leakage.
