To clean the trap and repeller:
1. Using 1200-grade wet/dry paper, rub the trap edge and end surfaces
until they are free of visible ion burn.
2. Using 9-micron lapping paper, polish the trap edges and end surfaces.
3. Using 1200-grade wet/dry paper laid on a flat surface, in a
figure-of-eight motion, rub the repeller’s flat surface until it is free of
visible ion burn.
4. Using 9-micron lapping paper laid on a flat surface, in a figure-of-eight
motion, polish the repeller’s flat surface.
5. Ultrasonically clean the trap and repeller in a suitable solvent to remove
any remaining grease.

page 10-21.
To reassemble the inner source:
1. Fit the ceramic spacers to the repeller.
2. Fit the repeller and ceramic spacers in the ion block.
3. Fit the ceramic spacers to the trap.
