Alternative: You can to access the lenses from the opposite end of the
outer source lid assembly, avoiding the need to remove the washers and
the spacers around the inner source contacts.
To clean the lens plates:
1. Rub each side and the inner aperture of each lens plate with 1200-grade
wet/dry paper to remove any visible ion burn.
Requirement: The inner aperture of each lens plate must be cleaned.
2. Ultrasonically clean the lens plates in a suitable solvent to remove any
remaining grease.

To assemble the outer source:
Assemble the outer source in the reverse order to which you
disassembled it, consulting the diagrams prepared during disassembly.
Note: When reassembling the outer source after completing any source
maintenance, ensure that you fit the outer source magnets with the
opposite poles facing each other.
