The main difference over the previous firmware version is the capability to drive an external
pneumatic applicator, whose valves and sensors are connected to the 9-pin "D" socket present
on the rear panel. Either direct-blow, tamp-on and tamp-blow with fixed or variable stroke
modes have been implemented (see detailed description in the "Pneumatic applicator cycle"
section).
Other changes, additions, improvements or fixes are the following:
status display for the additional applicator sensors
security delay of 5 seconds to reset memory parameters at switch-on

Several enhancements and improvements have been implemented in this new firmware
release, compared to the previous one installed on the prototype:
Other changes, additions, improvements or fixes are the following
rearranged display layout to include label length and current speed,
added real-time display of input sensors status,
changed error handling: no more ERROR xx, but self-explanatory messages,
moved all languages except English to external memory (24C16),
Left and Right keys change speed without ejecting a label,
added capability to exit from program mode without saving with Left+Right,
calibration errors do not exit program mode, allowing quick retry,
memory clear function if all three keys pressed at switch-on,
label length immediately displayed after calibration for check,
low-paper condition handling and addition of a secondary product sensor
added roll-over capability when editing numeric values,
parameters checksum automatically updated when exiting from service program,
handling of former ERROR 04 (now PAPER FEED ERROR) revised and corrected,
added encoder reading time parameter (service) to use also different encoders.
