The Power Assign dialog
Select Button > Power Assign (or press F8) to open the Power Assign dialog, where you can set
button-level actions, channel/variable text, and code parameters one or more selected buttons. The
options in this dialog include:
Using Power Assign: 1) Clear Channels
One powerful feature of Power Assign is the ability to clear the various function codes from the
buttons. Since the buttons remain selected after the paste operation, all you need to do is bring up
the Power Assign dialog, then:
1. Under Function Code Action, select Clear.
2. Under Function Code Type, select Channel, Address or Level.
3. Click Assign.
Function Code Action
• Clear: Clears the button group's channel or variable text setting based on the option you
select in the What to change area. Choose Channel to clear the channel numbers or
Variable Text to clear the variable text in the button group.
• Assign: Sets the button group's channel or variable text assignments based on the option you
select in the What to change area. Choose Channel to set the channel numbers or
Variable Text to set the variable text in the button group.
Function Code Type
• Channel: Sets the button group's channel numbers (if you select the Function Code Action/
Assign option).
• Address: Sets the button group's address numbers (if you select the Function Code Action/
Assign option).
• Level: Sets the button group's level numbers (if you select the Function Code Action/Assign
option).
Function Code Assignment Options
• Begin Assignment At: Sets the button group's starting device and channel numbers (if you select the Func-
tion Code Action/Assign option).
• Port: Sets the button group's port numbers (if you select the Function Code Action/Assign
option).
• Function Code: Sets the button group's function codes (if you select the Function Code Action/Assign
option).
• Ensure Contiguous
Code Assignment:
Sets the button group's device and channel number assignments to be contiguous
(i.e. 1, 2, 3, etc).
• Reuse Previously
Assigned Codes:
Sets the codes, starting at either port 1/channel 1 or what you specify in the Start At
field without regard to previously utilized codes.
Code Assignments
• Split Across Port IDs: Sets the program to create a different device number for each channel. For example,
port 1/channel 255, and port 2/channel 1 are considered to be split across device
IDs.
• Wrap Within Port ID: Sets the program to avoid creating two or more channels with different device num-
bers.
