Cleaning the Optical Fiber Cable Ferrule End Surface
Use an approved ferrule cleaner to clean the optical fiber cable ferrule of
the end surface. Although the following procedures use the FC connector
and adapter as an example, use the same methods when cleaning other
connector and adapter types.
1. Pull the ferrule cleaner lever to expose the cleaning surface.

2. Hold the lever in the opened position, press the optical connector
ferrule end into the cleaning surface, and then rub in one direction as
shown in the following figure.

General Notes on Cleaning

Do not clean with a used ferrule cleaner.
●
Do not finish cleaning with a swab as the swab fibers may adhere.
●
Cap the cleaned connector.
