Disable scheduled maintenance and alarm
origination [from G3V4vs/R5vs/R6vs]

1 To prevent scheduled daily maintenance from interfering with the update or upgrade, type
change system-parameters maintenance and press Enter.
2 If scheduled maintenance:
has begun: set the
Stop Time field to 1 minute after the current time.
has not begun: set the
Start Time field to at least 8 hours after the upgrade starts.
CAUTION:
If you do not disable Alarm Origination, the system may generate alarms, resulting in
unnecessary trouble tickets.
3 Type neither in the Alarm Origination to OSS Numbers field and press Enter.

Check link status [from G3V4vs/R5vs/R6vs]
Return to Task List
1 Type display communication-interface links and press Enter.
2 Record the enabled links.
3 Type status link <number> and press Enter.
4 Check the following items and record which links are in service. You will need this information
after the upgrade.
—ISDN
—BX25
AUDIX links
CMS links at both ends (also check the recovery time)
ASAI links at the DEFINITY ECS end
5 Repeat Steps 3 and 4 for each enabled link.
