3 Ensure that the save translation command was successful (Error Code must be zero). If the value
is anything else, the translations were not copied to the flashcard. If the translations are corrupted,
the following error message appears when logging in:

WARNING:
Translation corruption detected; call Avaya immediately.
4 If the save translation command fails, do not continue. Record the error code that appears on the
screen and escalate the problem immediately.
5 Remove the translation card from the slot. Keep the translation media in a safe and secure place.
In case of failure, use this translation to restore the system.

NOTE:
Use this procedure only for configurations with the TN750 or TN750B announcement
circuit pack. You do not need to save announcements on the TN750C or TN2501AP
integrated announcement circuit packs, which contain on-board, nonvolatile memory.
To determine whether the system has recorded announcements
1 Type display announcements and press Return.
If no recorded announcements are listed, you do not have to save announcements.
NOTE:
If none of the announcements has changed since they were last saved, you do not have to
save announcements. If there is any doubt, save the announcements anyway.
2 Type save announcements UUCSS and press Return.
Saving announcements takes about 40 minutes.

WARNING:
Neglecting to shut down the LAN Gateway assembly before powering down the system
cabinet can damage the LAN Gateway disk.
1 Log onto the DEFINITY LAN Gateway.
2 From the main menu, select Maintenance > Reset System > Shutdown.
