1 Call outside personnel who will be accessing the system remotely to perform administration,
maintenance, and testing.
2 Ask remote personnel to call system and login and display System Parameters Maintenance
screen. The login must be successful.
NOTE:
Product Identification on the System Parameters screen must match the Product
Identification administered by the local technician.
3 Have the remote personnel type test inads-link and press Enter, terminate the login, and
disconnect.
4 Have the remote personnel check the appropriate trouble ticket. The trouble ticket should show
“INADS,n,MINOR” in the description field to indicate a minor off-board alarm was reported to
the remote personnel. There may be more text in the description field if other resolved alarms
were reported.
5 Have the remote personnel make second call and log into the system and check the error log to
verify no problems. See Maintenance for Avaya DEFINITY® Server SI (555-23-123)
documentation for your system for error log and error code information.
6 Have the remote access personnel terminate logoff and disconnect.

1 Log in as craft.
NOTE:
If you have a dadmin login and password, you can use them instead of craft and the craft
password.
2 Type test inads-link and press Enter.
3 Request remote access personnel to verify that a trouble ticket was created.
4 Check error log to verify no problems.
5 Log off the system.
