Monitoring
Measurement range monitoring:WhenmeasurementdataisnotwithintheMeas-
urement range specifiedintheMain settings tab,thechannelstatusissetto‘Meas-
urementrangeoverrun/underrun’.OtherwisethestatusdisplaysOK’.Theoutput
valueofthechannelissettothemaximumorminimumvalueoftheScalingvalue
(intheMain settingstab).Channelstatusvaluesareavailableinstatusmon-
itoring.
Wire break monitoring:Theoptionisusefulformonitoringsensorfailurein,for
example,thermocouplesorsensorswith4mA–20mAoutput.Intheeventofafail-
ure,channelstatusissetto‘Wire-break’.Channelstatusvaluesareavailablein
statusmonitoring.
Cycle times
Calibration every 2 ^ x cycles:Offseterrorsrequirecorrectingfromconsiderable
ambienttemperaturefluctuationsinlongtermmeasurementprocedures.Thisset-
tingdetermineshowoftenthishappens.Acycleismadeupofthemeasurementof
allactivechannelsinthemodule(refertoModule's overall measurement timein
theMeasurement cycle settings tab).Thedefaultisevery1024cycles(210).For
anA/Dmeasurementtimeof100msfor8activechannels,anyoffseterrorsare
thencorrectedapproximatelyevery14minutes.
Measurement every x cycles:Thesettingcanbemadeforameasurementfroma
channelnottobetakenineverycycle(asinallotherchannels),but,forexample,
onlyevery10thcycle.Acycleismadeupofthemeasurementofallactivechannels
inthemodule(refertoModule's overall measurement timeintheMeasurement
cycle settingstab).
Cold junction
ThesettingisavailableforthermocouplesensortypesandpHprobes.Enterthe
Channel thatistobeusedforthethermocouple'scoldjunctionmeasurement
(junctionbetweenthermocoupleandcopperwire/connector)orthetemperature
compensationforthepHprobe.ThedefaultReference Junction usesthemeas-
urementfromthePt100temperaturesensorattheI/Omodule'sterminalandis
practicalonlyforthethermocouplesensortype.Adifferentchannelmayalsobe
usedforwhenthetemperatureatthethermocoupletothecopperwirejunction
remainsconstant,orthistemperaturevaluecanbeenteredasaManual value.
Inherit statusmeansthatthecoldjunctionisalsoappliedtothecurrentmeas-
uringpoint.
