The transmission speed and connection cable to be used is governed by the module type
installed. In a network you may only use essernet
®
modules with the same transmission speed.
Module type 1 (part number 784840)
Transmission speed 62.5 K bits/s, telephone cable IY(St) Y n x 2 x 0.8m, twisted pair with plastic
cover, max. cable length 1000m. Other type of cables, e.g. paper covered cable or smaller
diameter are not suitable. Use a separate pair for A+B connection. By using a multiple twisted pair
cable only connect a single pair.

-repeater modules may be used for extending the distance between two essernet
®
devices to a max. of 3000m. Networking fire alarm control panels 8000C / M with 0 series
hardware (control panels without EEPROM card) is not possible with module type 1.
Module type 2 (part number 784841)
Transmission speed 500 K bits/s, connection cable LAN IBM type 1 or comparable, max. cable
length 1000m between two essernet
®
devices. The essernet
®
repeater modules may be used for
extending the distance between two essernet
®
devices to 3000m.
If an essernet
®
micro module is used, you must jumper the integrated EMC protectio
n
for this slot. Special protective devices are installed for the EMV protection of the LA
N
cable.
