1.6 Cards.
1.6.1 Card administration.
All cards have a serial number printed on the card. This number has a specific relation to the data which is
coded in the card during the production.
Independent of card type (described below) these coded data are translated in the reader software to the
following information:
OEM code 3 digits.(max. 999)
Installer code 3 digits.(max. 999)
Company code 3 digits (max. 999)
Card number 5 digits (max. 65500 cards).
The serial number which is printed on the card must as a minimum have the card number. Normally it will also
include the Company number and some times the Installer and OEM number.
The OEM-code is related to a dealer or distributor of the THOR access control system. This code will be
administrated by HI SEC.
The Installer number is given to each installer under one distributor and this is administrated by the distributor. If
HI SEC is selling directly to an installer, the installer will get an OEM no. and the installer can if he wants divide
his "country" into regions each with a different installer no. This gives the possibility of having different service
cards in each region.
The Company code is related to each single system installed and is administrated by the installer or distributor.
The card number identifies the person who uses the card. The number starts from 1 to 65500. These card
numbers are administrated by the customer using the installation.
This way of controlling the cards in OEM-, Installer- and Company- numbers is made to make the administration
easier and to secure that not two cards are similar.
Independent of the above card numbering the following grouping of cards is made:
Master cards
Service cards
Normal user cards
The purpose of this grouping is to define some cards ( Service cards & Master cards), which always have
special programming rights, regardless of how the system is configured.
