1.8 Credit card features.
Credit cards can be accepted by the THOR reader in two cases, either as a guest card or to open a bank
entrance door to cash machines. The applications are decided by the used personnel groups, see below.
1.8.1 Credit cards as guest cards.
All standard credit cards can be used as guest cards in stead of using the standard Hi Sec cards. This feature
must not be confused with the credit cards used to open the bank entrance door (pers. grp. no. 250, see below).
Guest cards are always pre-programmed to use the rights from personnel group no. 1 and this cannot be
changed. Both credit guest cards and Hi Sec guest cards use personnel group no. 1.
Max 50 credit guest cards can be created but there is no limit in the number of Hi Sec guest cards.
Before a credit card can be used as a guest card, it must be created by means of menu 23. A guest card is
automatically blocked after one day (24:00) but the credit cards can be deleted again by using menu 24. Credit
guest cards are deleted and not only blocked at 24:00 hour. It is also possible to create a week time program to
be used together with the guest personnel group.
To create and delete a credit guest card a Hi Sec card with priority 1 or higher must be used.
1.8.2 Credit cards in bank-applications.
Using the Personnel Group no. 250 it is possible to allow Credit cards to open the door. This feature can be
used in bank applications to open the main entrance door to the cash distribution machines (A. T. M.'s) by the
bank customers. At the same time the normal bank staff can open the door using normal Hi Sec encoded cards.
The Personnel Group no. 250 can as all other personnel groups be programmed with a week time program
giving the rights and times wanted.
It is very important that the week program programmed for the Personnel Group no. 250 must
not
include use of
PIN code, that means that FNC = 1 must
not
be used. Also the pre-programmed week program no. 1 (Always
PIN code) must
not
be used. If this is done the reader will refuse the credit cards.
If the Personnel Group no. 250 is programmed with no access (week program no. 0) then all credit cards will be
rejected. After initialization of the reader, Credit cards are blocked and must be released as described by the
Personnel Group no. 250.
The use of Credit cards must normally only be used together with the
external readers 95T ERC / 90T RKP
ERC and EMR-S
. The following parameters can then be programmed for Personnel Group no. 250:
WP = Week program no. If this is programmed as no. 02 Credit cards will be accepted all 24 hour.
LF = Lock function. If programmed as "1" the door will be opened independent on the set/unset status of
the THOR Intrusion system. If LF is programmed as "0" the door will only be opened when the Intrusion
system area is unset.
HU = Hold up code allowed.
Must be programmed as 0.
AC = Intrusion system User no.
Must be programmed with the related THOR Intrusion User no.
The
Intrusion User no. only have a meaning if the LF is programmed as 0.
