1.7.3 Free programmable card format.
The Card formats 06 and 14 can be used in installations where the standard card formats do not correspond to
the cards on the site. In this case it is possible to "learn" the reader the cards by reading the card in a specific
reader.
Please note the following limits in the use of the free programmable card formats:
-
Max. 4000
cards can be programmed in a system.
- BCD Format (ISO 2) From 3 to 16 digits can be read with an off-set definable from 0 to 23
digits. The off-set starts from the first read digit on the card.
Bit Format (Wiegand) Max. 64 bits can be read with an off-set from 0 to xx bits. The off-set is
counting from the last bit read on the card.
- You must always initialize the reader using Hi Sec Service and Master cards to set up the
correct site code etc.
When you are using the free programmable card format, the card no. in the AIMS Edit Cards dialogue is just
used as a serial no. and as a reference no. to other menus where the card no. is used. The field called Personal
no. is indicating the digits which have been read on the card (magstripe, barcode etc.). This number can be
directly typed in the Personal no. field or, if a reader has been specified in the AIMS.INI file, this personal no. can
be read in by swiping the card through the reader. In this way it is possible to use even encrypted cards without
knowing the encryption key.
