If the reader has more input/output connections than pre-programmed in the default data each used input or
output address must be programmed with a softtype using the menus 84 or 85.
H:
The pre-programmed door timing can be changed using menu 83.
I:
After initialization the master card can be used to create normal cards and also more programming cards if
needed, and to make the system programming. Please refer to the following description of the personnel
group principle, week time program principle and the Operating instructions.
3.2.2 Multi-reader system.
Before starting the programming of the readers, they must all be connected on the bus. Please note that one
reader must be coded as address no. 00. In a multi-reader system each reader must be initialized as described
in the following from A to F.
A:
Read the Service card.
The OEM number for the Service card is registered and the Initialization menu will be displayed.
B:
Chose the menu for initialization.
The display will ask for the language and the bus address. The language is selected by keying in the country
telephone code (3 digits). The address in multi-reader configuration can be between 00 and 31.
C:
The display will ask for the Mode and Options for the system. See 4.11 "Submenu 8, Menu 82 Initialize
Reader" for the values for the Options. Mode 02 is "Multi-reader" mode.
D:

two Company nos. Please note that these nos. in many applications are identic.
E:

The complete OEM number taken from the Service card number and the Company - number will be
programmed in the reader.
The reader database must be reset the first time the reader is initialized.
The modes or options can be changed later on by answering NO to reset database.
F:
The reader cpu can be soft reset by answering YES to RESET READER? Please do not leave this menu by
the C - key as no changes will then be stored. Leave this menu only by YES or NO.
Before continuing the programming of the database, each reader connected to the bus must be initialized as
described in
A
to
F
. If not the global database will not be updated automatically during the programming.
Default data:
Each reader is pre-programmed with the default data shown for a stand-alone reader above.
Database programming:
As described the database exist in two parts, a global part and a local part. During programming the global
database is automatically updated. On the contrary the local database must be programmed in each reader or at
least copied from one reader to the others if they are all the same.
