The controller/terminal for the
external
reader is during daily use not operated and can for this reason be
"hidden away". The special functions are available in connection with setting and unsetting of the THOR
intrusion system.
When a reader is programmed with both opt. 3 = 1 and opt. 6 = 1 as shown, the reader will function in an "exit
reader" mode.
In this mode the reader will work as a normal ACM-reader except in 3 conditions:
♦
After a setting of an area in the THOR Intrusion system, the reader will activate the door and the text
DOOR IS OPEN will be shown in the display (a normal ACM-reader will block the door).
♦
Even if the THOR Intrusion system is set, the reader will always activate the door to avoid that you
can be locked inside the building, if you are not allowed to unset the Intrusion system. The display will
indicate: AREA SET.
♦
If an area in the THOR Intrusion system is unset from the reader, the reader will close the door and
indicate in the display AREA UNSET, DOOR IS CLOSED.
The above mentioned special "Exit reader" functions are only available when connected to a THOR Intrusion
system, i.e. mode 3. In mode 1 and 2 the reader follows the routines from the standard description.
The external reader controller/terminal (which is normally "hidden") will work as normal except in one situation.
When a message has been sent to a card, the terminal will not give an attention buzzer signal as when using the
external reader alone on a door.
