Jumper settings:
J1:
"End of Line" resistor for the RS485 bus. When the jumper J1 is installed a 220 ohm resistor is
connected in parallel with the two Bus terminals.
J2:
All reader types include heating elements on the p.c. board. When jumper J2 is installed, the
heating elements will turn on at a temperature below +5
0
C and at the same time the display
backlight will be turned on.
J3:
RAM battery back-up jumper. A lithium battery for RAM memory back-up is included in all
reader terminal types. When the jumper is installed, the battery can keep the programmed data
for at least 14 months. Please note that the battery is not rechargeable and the jumper J3 must
therefor be disconnected when the reader is without power for a longer time.
J4:
External Magnet / Wiegand reader head jumper. When the jumper J4 is installed , the interface
for the signals on the P3 terminals will be set for Magnetic reader head types.
When the J4 jumper is off, the interface for the signals on the P3 terminals will be set for
Wiegand reader head types.
If an external magnetic reader head is connected to a 95T ACM terminal (including internal
reader head) the two reader heads will work in parallel.
It is in this version not possible to
detect which reader head is reading the card.
If two cards are read at exactly the same time
a reading error will be indicated.
