8.13 Removing and installing the counterweight
Make sure that you have these tools :
l
A ballast removal cable,
l
Two D-shackles,
l
One two leg chain sling,
l
Each leg has a minimum length of 1 meter.
l
A swivel hook with latch.
Caution
Make sure that all lifting equipment is correctly rated.
Note
Hoeflon has put all these tools in the top drawer of the compact crane.
1. Put the crane on a solid floor.
2. Use the outriggers to make the crane level.
l
Set the outriggers at 47°
3. Fully retract the tracks.
4. Fully extend the counterweight.
5. Remove the nut from the counterweight lifting
bar.
6. Turn the counterweight lifting bar out.
