2.4 Work environment
All operating personnel must:
l
be fit to do the task.
l
stay out of the operating radius of the crane.
l
fully know the content of the user manual of the compact crane.
l
be familiar with all the functions and attachments associated with the equipment.
l
be at least 18 years of age.
Do not:
l
be under the influence of narcotics or alcohol.
l
go near or climb on the compact crane when it is being used or when it is moving.
l
go near or climb on the load when it is being lifted or when it is moving.
l
use the compact crane to transport or lift people.
2.4 Work environment
Make sure that the environmental and operational conditions are safe and within limits before using the
compact crane.
Put barriers and safety warnings around the perimeter of the work area. Do not let unauthorized people in the
work area.
Use extra light in dark areas.
Do not smoke or make fire in the work area.
Use communication equipment and a spotter if you cannot fully view the entire work area.
Obey the height restriction in covered areas.
Do not use the compact crane:
l
if it is not safe,
l
near high voltage cables,
l
during lightning storms,
l
in an explosive environment.
Do not put the compact crane on, in or adjacent to holes.
