Caution
Only extend the boom a small amount. You will damage the frame of the counterweight if you
extend the boom too far.
19. Fully retract the frame of the counterweight.
20. Turn the boom to its farthest rearward position.

The counterweight is now farthest away from
the crane.
21. Turn the counterweight 90° so that it is parallel to
the tracks.
22. Slowly retract the boom and lower the
counterweight.
23. Put the counterweight on the floor.
l
Make sure that there is no tension in the
lifting cable.
24. Disconnect the counterweight.
25. Fully lower the boom.
26. Remove the two leg chain sling and the lifting cable.
l
Put them back in their drawer.
27. Turn the counterweight lifting bar back in position and lock it with the nut.
28. Put the cable roll back in position.
29. Use the bolts to attach the retainer plate back on the counterweight lifting frame.
8.13.2 Install the counterweight
Caution
Stay away from the counterweight during installation of the counterweight.
1. Fully retract the tracks.
2. Move the crane next to the counter weight.
3. Park the crane close to the counter weight. Make sure that:
l
the counterweight is parallel to the tracks,
l
the lifting lugs on the counterweight are in line with the center of the slewing ring.
4. Set the outriggers at 47°
5. Lift the crane on the outriggers and make it level.
