9.8 Every 100 hrs
9.8.1 Chain maintenance
l
Clean a chain with petroleum or diesel. Do not clean them with acidic agents or a pressure
cleaner. These can damage the chains.
l
Examine the chains. Make sure that:
l
they are clean,
l
they are lubricated,
l
there is no rust,
l
the pins and the plates are not broken or worn.
Speak to your Hoeflon dealer if a chain is broken. Do not continue working.
9.8.2 Lubricate the chains
Note
Use chain grease.
1. Fully extend the boom.
2. Clean the chains.
3. Spray the chains.
4. Retract the boom.
9.9 Crawler tracks
9.9.1 Inspect the tension
Make sure that the tension in the two crawler tracks is correct.
If the crawler tracks are too loose the sprocket wheels can slip and no longer drive the crawler track. Slipping
sprocket wheels can cause damage to the crawler track.
If the crawler tracks are too tight they will wear too quickly.
