9.7.3 Grease nipples on the drive of the slewing ring
There are four grease nipples on the inside of the flange of the slewing ring.
There is one grease nipple on the drive of the slewing ring.
Lubricate these every 50 hours of operation or at least every four months.
1. Remove top cover at the front of the crane.
2. Apply grease through the grease nipples.
3. Turn the crane superstructure a small distance.
4. Do step 2 and 3 again until the superstructure has been fully rotated.
5. A small amount of grease is permitted to leak from under the seal on the inside of the slewing ring.
Note
Do not remove this grease. It functions as a dust seal.
6. Make sure that the seal is still in good condition.
Note
Push the seal back in position if it is pushed out by the addition of new grease.
