9.3 Safety during maintenance

When you do maintenance work on the machine make sure that:
l
the crane is stopped.
l
the key is removed from the switch.
l
Do not smoke during maintenance work.
l
Make sure that the tank caps and oil filler caps are closed.
l
Do not wear rings, watches and jewelery while doing maintenance work.
l
Tie back long hair so that it cannot get caught in equipment.
l
Do not wear loose or hanging clothing.
l
Never grab pressure lines with your hands when liquid comes out. Liquids (fuel or hydraulic oil)
can penetrate the skin when released under high pressure. If this happens, get medical advice
immediately to prevent the risk of a dangerous infection.
l
Stay away from hot surfaces.
l
Never work under a lifted boom, jib, counterweight, outrigger leg or other machine parts.
l
Only use approved non-flammable detergents.
l
Never remove warning stickers.
l
Obey all warnings and safety precautions on the machine and in the user manuals.
l
Discard oils, fuels and filters correctly.
l
Make sure that only approved personnel is near the compact crane during repair and
maintenance work.
l
Use correct PPE , protective clothing, gloves and safety glasses, when you do maintenance.
